CJ PIPE CLAMPS

CJ Introduction

The CJ pipe clamping product range is designed to hold pipes suspended from ceilings and walls. Devised to be used in various industry applications from fire security, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, drainage and water supply.
The CJ product range has 3 main characteristics that set its design apart:

SAFETY

The open and closed positions of our CJ Clamps are both stable positions. This aids a safer and easier installation of pipe systems, as a section of pipe can be positioned and aligned in the clamp in the open position, or easily inserted against the self closing mechanism to close the clamp to a safe position ready for securing (see figure1). This has the potential to reduce the manpower requirement for Pipe installations as well as significantly reducing the time involved in manually supporting the lengths of pipe.

SPEED

With its self-closing/self-holding feature, the CJ Clamps are easy and quick to install. This feature allows a pipe to be placed into the pivoting bracket of the clamp, which in turn moves to a closed position and benefits from the weight of the pipe acting on the arm to keep it closed until fully secured in position (see Figure1).

STRENGTH

Made from marine grade 304 Stainless Steel or galvanized Mild Steel, this product has very high strength characteristics, as well as a high level of corrosion resistance, which make them suitable for inside and outside use. Due to its clever design it provides additional benefits of being a seismic rated pipe clamp.

The Pipe Clamp is a self-closing clamp that has particular application to the clamping and securing of nominal sized pipe systems to be suspended from overhead structures such as ceilings or beams. 

Self-closing / Self-holding feature

With its self-closing/self-holding feature, the Pipe Clamp is easy and quick to install. This feature allows a pipe to be placed into the pivoting bracket of the clamp, which in turn moves to a closed position and benefits from the weight of the pipe acting on the arm to keep it closed until fully secured in position. 

“Lock & Clamp” feature

The two folded tabs on top of the swinging bracket set and secure the clamp, by the inclined tabs forcing the swinging bracket into its closed position when tightening the top flanged nut.
Strength
The 304 Stainless Steel and Galvanized Mild Steel versions of the Pipe clamp have been rated to support between 9 and 13 times the static load required by the Specification No: NZS 4541:2013 (section 403.9) for pipework supporting brackets.

Adjustability

Due to its clever design and threaded rod connection features, the Pipe clamp is very easy to install and adjust to the desired position before and after the pipe is installed. Possibility to use with many seismic bracing options. Every Pipe clamp has a secondary attachment point, which allows for an additional hanger or connection to be secured for seismic bracing (see our CJ Seismic bracing section below for more detail). 

Corrosion resistance

Made from 304 grade Stainless Steel or galvanized Mild Steel, the Pipe clamp has very high corrosion resistance characteristics.

The Surface clamp is a self-closing clamp that has particular application to the clamping and securing of nominal sized pipe systems to be mounted flush beneath a purlin flange.

Adjustability 

The profile designed into the narrow section between the two attachment points of the Surface Clamp allow it to be bent to the desired angle, in order to be used on inclined purlins.

CJ Wall Mount Clamp

The Wall Mount clamp is a self-holding clamp that has particular application to the clamping and securing of nominal sized pipe systems to be mounted on a wall.

Self-holding feature 

The fixed bracket of the Wall mount clamp has a self-holding tab that allows the pipework to be held in position in the clamp before being secured.

Made of 304 Stainless Steel or galvanized Mild Steel, the Wall Mount clamp has very high strength and corrosion resistance characteristics. 

Easy Installation

With its slotted attachment holes, the Wall Mount clamp is very easy to install and align.

CJ Low Profile Clamp

The Low Profile clamp is a self-holding clamp that has particular application to the clamping and securing of nominal sized pipe systems to be mounted flush under a ceiling, Beam, or any other suitable building structure.

The fixed bracket of the Low Profile clamp has a self-holding tab that allows the pipework to be held in position in the clamp before being secured.

Variety of application 

The Low Profile clamp provides a simple and efficient solution to the clamping and securing of pipework to be suspended as close as possible to a ceiling.

CJ Seismic Bracing Systems

The CJ Seismic Bracing range comprises two options:
1. The Threaded Rod Bracket option which is suitable for Light Seismic bracing applications.
2. The Pipe Bracket option which is suitable for Heavy Duty Pipework Seismic bracing applications.
Both options come with a Roof Mount Bracket and are easy to adjust to the desired length and angle.

Threaded Rod Bracket Option

(This seismic bracing option is available for 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 65, 80, 100, 150 & 200mm NB size pipe)
The Threaded Rod Bracket is a bracket that attaches to each end of a length of threaded rod, in order to make an additional hanger. It is available in one size, suitable for a M10 threaded rod.
It attaches to the roof structure using a Roof Mount Bracket, to the pipework using the Pipe Mount End Spacer for an axial support, or directly to the Pipe clamp for a radial support.

PIPE BRACKET - PIPE CLAMP SPACER OPTION

The Pipe Bracket Option comes in two sizes; 20mm NB and 25mm NB, and utilises a length of suitably sized Medium NB pipe, in order to make an additional heavy duty brace. When used in conjunction with the CJ Clamp system it enables quick and easy bracing connections that are strong in compression and tension and also easy to adjust to the desired length and angle.

It attaches to the roof structure using a Roof Mount Bracket to the pipework using the Pipe Mount End Spacer and CJ Clamps for an axial support.

Provision has been made for additional securing of the bracing pipe via holes incorporated into the Pipe Bracket on the pipe center line.

For the strongest possible axial seismic bracing, use two Pipe Brackets, a Roof Mount bracket, a Pipe Mount End Spacer and two CJ Pipe Clamps

Dropper Mount Bracket

(Comes in 3 different sizes, suitable for M10, M12 & M16 threaded rods) 
The Dropper mount bracket is an extension bracket that allows the Pipe clamps mounting point to be dropped by 135mm (custom size brackets can be made on request).

Special design features incorporate a folded tab that assists flat mounting to surfaces, while also aligning the securing fastener and threaded rod on the centre of load.

Ratchet spanner access for securing of fasteners has also been incorporated in the overall design.

STRENGTH 

The Dropper Mount Brackets smart design gives it the necessary strength and rigidity to ensure a tight and safe attachment point for the Pipe clamp.

CORROSION RESISTANCE 

Made of 304 Stainless Steel or galvanized Mild Steel, the Dropper mount bracket has very high corrosion resistance characteristics. 

VARIETY OF APPLICATION / ADJUSTABILITY 

Although designed for the Pipe clamp, depending on the situation, the Dropper mount bracket can be used with the CJ Seismic bracing components and/or the Low Profile clamp. It adds extra flexibility with adjustment height of the threaded rod system.

Its original height is 135mm, but custom sized brackets are also available on request.
