From drilling and tapping to fitting and assembly, SDL offers a large range of additional services that complement the laser cutting, folding and fabrication services we offer.
We offer the following additional capabilities to add to our full suite of services
Stud welding is a technique where a fastener or specially formed nut is welded onto another metal part.
Self clinching nuts are installed by placing them in properly sized holes in sheets and applying a parallel squeezing force to the head of the nut. A serrated clinching ring prevents the fastener from rotating after installation. SDL has invested in a PEMsert machine to efficiently install clinch nuts with speed, quality and cost reduction
Flow drilling involves drilling a hole and simultaneously producing a bush from the parent metal which gives extra support as a bearing surface or for a thread
Our Roscamat Tapping arm speeds up productivity for quick and efficient tapping and drilling and ensures all holes are square and accurate.
